My Passion in Pixel Quilts

by Dee Bushrod

Dee Bushrod is a Brit who now lives in (and loves) Oklahoma. She started making quilts 19 years ago but didn’t fully love the entire process until she discovered pixel quilts. Pixel quilts are now her main passion, and she travels the world talking and teaching about all things pixel quilts.

She will do a truck show and discuss her 19+ year journey of quilts and finding her passion for pixel quilts. She will also do an introduction into how she creates pixel quilt and share how quilters can create their own with guidance on how to do it most effectively. She will expand on this at the workshop.

Pixel Quilt - Cherry Blossom

by Dee Bushrod

This workshop is an introduction to sewing pixel quilts using 2 techniques. Participants will be taught both techniques whilst putting together a pixel 9 block project enabling them to distinguish which method they prefer before attempting their own pixel quilt. This workshop covers cutting the fabric, piecing in both ways makes between 1-9 blocks (it’s a marathon not a sprint!). Depending on the size of the class, participants will have an opportunity to work one on one with Dee for up to 30 minutes to create their own pixel quilt pattern.

Kits are $30 and can be purchased from Dee at the workshop. The workshop is based on 9 blocks from the full quilt, and those 9 blocks are what the kit will contain to complete (not the full quilt!). Each participant in the workshop will get a PDF of the full pattern after the class.

NOTE: Quiltsmart 1.5" pixel grid is required.
See the Workshop page for Supply List if attending the workshop.
