The Linus Connection
Providing quilts and blankets to the Williamson County Linus Connection is our guild’s largest community service project. The Linus Connection's mission is to provide a handmade security blanket to every child who is in a crisis or at-risk situation in Central Texas.
Each CTQG member is asked to make and donate at least one Linus quilt and bring it to “show and tell” during her / his birthday month and get a big "Happy Birthday" from the group. Our Linus contact is Becky Rodier.
Thank You Quilters
The Thank You Quilters make quilts for recuperating soldiers in the Darnell Medical Center at Fort Hood. You are invited to participate in making quilts for this cause. Thank You Quilters meet at Ready To Sew Bernina in Cedar Park the second and fourth Tuesdays, from 10 AM to 5 PM. You may also make quilts at home and drop them off at Ready to Sew Bernina or bring them to the guild meeting. We have long arm quilters who volunteer their time so we are happy to accept tops with backs or just tops. We prefer red, white, and blue, or patriotic fabrics. The size should be between 50 X 60 and 66 X 78. Some soldiers prefer crocheted or knitted afghans. We also deliver quilts for the children of the recuperating soldiers.
