Chisholm Trail Linus Pride Come join us and become a charter member. A new CTQG Linus Connection monthly gathering will meet May 12 at Grace Episcopal Church, 1314 University Ave, Georgetown, TX. The room is large, well lit and we have kitchen privileges. We will be there the second Monday of every month 10 am–3 pm to make quilts and blankets for the Linus Connection. Help cut fabric for kits, sew on labels and bindings, or work on your own Linus project. Please bring a sack lunch and drink so we can all have lunch together. This is a great opportunity to help a wonderful cause and get to know other members of our guild. It is a perfect place for new members to come and make friends. Bring your sewing machine and supplies (plus a walking foot). We’ll have lots of fabric and patterns. If you have any quilting items or tools (pins, thread, mats, etc) that you no longer use, we’ll have a container at our May 6 guild meeting where you can donate them to help our group get going. Hope you can join us…it will be great fun. Kathleen Curtis
The Linus Connection Providing quilts and blankets to the Williamson County Linus Connection is our guild’s largest community service project. Linus Connection distributes quilts and blankets to children (infants to teens) in Williamson County who need comforting: abused and neglected children; children in foster care, homeless shelters and orphanages; and children in cancer and hospital wards. Each CTQG member is asked to make at least one quilt to show during show and tell (and then donate) during her birthday month and get a big "Happy Birthday" from the group. Quilts or blankets can be any size from 30x30 inches to 45x60 inches. Quilts should be handmade of durable child-friendly colors and patterns. Suggested material is cotton fabric for quilts and acrylic yarn for crocheted or knitted blankets. Please avoid seasonal fabric as we want the children's blankets to be special all year. French binding is preferred, as it is more durable than quick-turn, pillow-cased or other binding methods. Quilts may be quilted or tied. A small label will be added to your quilt that says "Made with Tender Loving Care by The Linus Connection." |

Several CTQG members have offered to long-arm quilt your Linus quilts for free.
