Rulers Revisited by Marci Wendrock of Spicewood, TX. For the modern quilter, this lecture takes a look at the quilting tools being offered today that help the quilter make perfect common units used in quilting. The lecture will be followed with a wonderful trunk show of reproduction quilts made with the Deb Tucker Rulers.
Feb 7 9:30 Rulers Revisited presented by Marcie Wendrock at the Georgetown Public Library. Learn how to make perfect units of Flying Geese, Square-in-a-Square, Peaky and Spike and Lemoyne Star blocks that finish flawlessly every time using Deb Tucker rulers.

The Goose is Loose on the Ranch - -Disappearing Flying Geese lecture and trunk show by Jackie Hillman, of Two Creeks Quilts.

In this PowerPoint presentation and trunk show, she will share the results of her discovery of a dramatic way to add originality to quilts using the traditional flying goose block. She will present a selection of quilts, from whimsical to sophisticated, created with her Disappearing Flying Geese techniques, and explain how easy it can be to create beautiful, unique quilts that look much more complicated to construct than they actually are.

Apr 4 9:30 Disappearing Flying Geese Table Runner presented by Jackie Hillman at the Georgetown Public Library. Her Split Flying Geese Watermelon Pattern can be downloaded from the American Quilter’s Society. Jackie will show you how to do a "horizontal split" of the flying geese block and use it in a table runner.
May 1 10:00 Guild meeting at the Georgetown Public Library
Borders Bonanza by Winnie Fleming, from Friendswood, TX. This is a 2-for-1 program, featuring about 40 quilts with different borders. Not only will Winnie show easy ways to use borders to turn an ordinary quilt into something spectacular, but many of the quilts are a result of block trades, which will also be discussed.
May 2 9:30 Borders Galore Workshop wall hanging by Winnie Fleming at the Georgetown Public Library. The wall hanging starts with a center block set on point, followed by two pieced borders. Winnie has a formula (which she calls her magic formula, because it works every time) for fitting a pieced border to the quilt. She will share the formula along with other tips for precision piecing that can be used for making all of your quilts. The class requires pre-cutting and making the center block, so that you will get the most out of the workshop.

Jun 6 9:30 Pending: Storybook Quilts workshop by Joan Howes. A storybook quilt is a quilt made from panels themed from a book (such as a fairy tale or other story), or from panels that can be used to make up stories (such as the alphabet). It's great for babies and toddlers. Tell or read the story, or make up a story, as you move from square to square. Joan has a storybook packet that includes her book, "That’s How Love Is!©, 1-1/3 yards of Snippets fabric by American Jane Patterns, Sandy Klop for Moda©, and directions to create the quilt.

Quilt College is a fun meeting where we have demonstrations by members of the guild. You will go from table to table and learn a new technique or get refreshed on an older technique that is updated.
